LMR NGO in cooperation with the Municipality of Jiyeh, conducted a free English language course (two levels: beginners and advanced). The course duration was 4 weeks. The course was presented by: Dr. Laila Hamwi From Monday to Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. At the end of the project, LMR distributed certificates of attendance for all participants who have completed the full course.
LMR’s pilot project “Enhancing the Well-Being and Livelihood of Female Prisoners and their Reintegration in Society Project” targets all Female prisoners in Lebanese prisons specifically in the Baabda prison, while incarcerated. With the approval and support of MOI, MOJ, MEHE this 12-month pilot project will focus on enhancing the wellbeing and livelihood of female prisoners through providing vocational learning support for more than 50% of female prisoners who demonstrate the willingness to engage in this project and through maintaining the critical needs like health care, food supply, psychosocial support, life coaching sessions and physical activities for all 96 female prisoners in Baabda prison, irrespective of their, social status, ethnicity, religion, or nationality.
